Who Can See What: Hotel Wi-Fi, Cell Towers, Apps and Your VPN
Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. The video then plays in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode.
Even with your apps' traffic inside encrypted tunnels, five outside parties still see something: the hotel or café Wi-Fi, the local cell network, app makers and ad brokers, the VPN company, and the person glancing over your shoulder. This video goes through what each one sees, what the Communication Suite kit does about it, and the six adversary tiers the kit is and isn't built for.
What you’ll learn
- Know what each outside party learns
- Understand the adversary tiers and which ones the kit targets
- Separate confidentiality, attribution resistance and low signature

The honest limits
QUIC raises the cost of identifying VPN use but can't guarantee nobody notices. Relay addresses and traffic patterns stay visible to the hotel in both modes, the hardware ID (IMEI) never changes, one VPN provider is one trust domain, and ordinary-looking hardware doesn't prevent inspection or identification.
