Build a KeePassXC Recovery Vault, Then Test the Restore (Phase 3.5)
Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. The video then plays in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode. Everything on screen in the Hardware Lab is a training value.
Phase 3, step 3.5 of the Communication Suite build: the recovery vault. The goal is account access and existing contacts on a replacement device, with message history treated as disposable. What goes in the KeePassXC vault (Cape's 24-word recovery phrase, the Mullvad account number, Signal or Molly numbers and registration-lock PINs, and the SimpleX passphrase, with the database export stored alongside), why the vault goes to the phone by USB only, where the backup copy lives, and how to run one real restore test. Demonstrated in the suite's Hardware Lab, so every vault, passphrase and file on screen is a training value.
What you’ll learn
- Know the recovery scope
- Build the vault with the right entries
- Run a real restore test

The honest limits
Message history isn't recovered, by design. A registration-lock PIN re-claims a number but isn't a message backup, and a lost PIN can hold the number for about seven days. Without the SimpleX export, you re-exchange links with everyone. The lab's values are training values.
